Since the damage had already been inflicted, I couldn't wait for the climax of the evening to present itself as we sat through our starters of beef Carpaccio and the truly Italian dish of Caprese salad. Although they had done well with these perpetual favourites, Elio at Hanzomon still gets our vote with its more intimate service.

Keeping my hunger pangs at bay was an uphill task when I knew what was coming up;-) Paying dividend to my olfactory senses, I inhaled deeply in the whiffs of perfumed truffles as their heavenly aroma filled the air. A Lilliputian morsel was grated over my pasta and I had to bite my tongue to keep from clamouring for more:( As the dish was being devoured at an alarming rate, I was impressed that a mere fungi can wreck so much havoc on our senses! And of course, being the sweeeeet, generous soul that I am, *erhem* I shared my bounty with my other half, though secretly wishing that I was home to lap up every iota of sauce.
I am happy to report that my other half's finance did not suffer a beating when he was presented with the chit. The pasta was about 5,000JPY or S$75 and I was sure that I heard the dude let out a huge sign of relief;-)
