The Q-Tip...

Like Singaporeans, the Japanese's penchant for queueing is phenomenal. Though I can never quite fathom why people would queue for food when there is no lack of good grub here and in Singapore, I nevertheless take my hat off anyone who actually has the patience to join in a snaking queue.

No pun intended, but what takes the cake must surely be the inane mob of people at the Krispy Kreme Shinjuku outlet, come rain or shine. Reading much like a list from a nutritionist's nightmare, these deep-fried rings of pure refined sugar seemed to be on everyone's indulgent list. Moi too, in the wake of my crumbling willpower, lurched onto a box of 12 of its original glazed;) With two security guards deployed for effect (for the Japanese are ain't no boisterous lot!), the trick here is to get a box as you will then be allowed to bypass the queue...heeheehee

Anyway, the verdict: To put it simply, they are good but hey aren't all sugary and fried stuff supposed to taste good???
