Even though the iconic Chanel tweed jacket has been done to death, its resilience in the face of the fickle fashion world is something I find laudable. Its black and white styles, classic colours which can better withstand the test of time, are still able to command top dollar even for a second hand piece. And from the movie, Coco Chanel, I learnt that these jackets are in fact weighted with gold chains. Maybe that explained the massive price tags attached to them:(
Well, top dollar or not, I for one tend to gravitate towards the slightly cropped ones in pastel-colours. I found them less severe, often with a playful twist about them. I can just imagine pairing them with jeans, skirts...endless beautiful ensembles to be had with just this one iconic piece...
