In a bid to outshine their compatriots, shoemakers (or designers) have upped the ante and are churning out bolder designs with gravity-defying heels. Heels of 5 inches are yester-year as we are now talking 8 inches of pointy, killer stilettoes! To ensnare us into their treacherous web of breaking backs and achy feet, the elaborate and pretty detailing on them are proving to be an irresistible eyeful.

So, on top of juggling work, family and a million other things, we women now have these punishing "objects of desire" to contend with, teetering precariously on them in our quest for longer, slender legs...all in the name of vanity!
