Leaving the ordering to the others, I decided to sit back and soak in some R&R with some sake in hand. It was proving to be quite an arduous task, following my observation that the minimal zen-like dining hall was only a third filled:(
Leaving the ordering to the others, I decided to sit back and soak in some R&R with some sake in hand. It was proving to be quite an arduous task, following my observation that the minimal zen-like dining hall was only a third filled:(Soon, two humongous platters of food materialised. One was a sashimi and sushi combo, the other an assortment of tempura. There was nothing particularly good or original about the sushi and sashimi for I am of the opinion that as long as the seafood is fresh, it will taste fine. As for the tempura, it was in all honesty, one of the worst I have ever tasted, thick batter verging on sogginess. There was so much leftover at the end that the mere thought of tempura now would make me scream and run for cover...yucky!!!
To add insult to injury, it probably cost a bomb too for our bill rang up to an unhealthy 50,000JPY. To sum up my dismal experience, I don't need another reason to never ever step foot into Nobu again.
