Hail From Harrods...

I have always love Harrods, particularly come Christmas when their legendary window displays clothed in grand splendour, play host to all things bright and beautiful. Thus, with its famous name etched proudly in the doorway of Harrods Brompton Tokyo, we made a march for its English brunch. Here you can experience the delights of a classic English breakfast without having to book your flight to UK. However, be forewarned, this style of breakfast or brunch is not for weight-watchers and is almost guaranteed to pile on the pounds!

The plush, cushy sofas, ceiling fans and the showy purple walls all point to an upscale London set-up while the menu of bacon and eggs, mashed potatoes, baked beans, sausages, liver pate are traditions that are not to be trifle with. From the few set menus on offer, I decided to go with the fried cod while my lunch companion opted for the pancake set with salmon mousse.

The verdict: good, hearty English food that is best enjoyed once in a blue moon.
