Le Dix Of Balenciaga...

The bag scene is crowded with every imaginable brand worth their "It" factor, yet the sizzle never really fizzled out of the love affair between Balenciaga and the bag hoarders. It is neither the bling nor the screaming logos that captivated the fans. It is the cool, nonchalance of the Le Dix motorcycle range that combines both masculine and feminine to give us the androgynous look which spells rock chic.

The First, The City, The Part Time and The Work

For the uninitiated (trust me, there are still many out there!), this is a simple induction to the famous family of the Le Dix. Crafted from vintage lamb leather, the baby in the family is The First. Relatively small and flat, it is cute yet spacious enough for the essentials. The City is its bigger sibling. Whether it is with the detachable strap or the double handles over your shoulders, it still looks fabulous either way. Next comes The Part Time. It is more longish and rectangular but still stays true to the original styling. Both The Work and The Weekender are quite similar and are of a considerable size, good for those quick weekend getaways.

Here are the Giant series with their gold and silver hardware. The updated version though is the Covered Giants with the hardware in leather. The hardware kind of mellow the bags, like a full-flavoured well-matured wine, rendering them more sophisticated and ladylike while still maintaining its hip, funky edge.

The Day in Framboise, The Giant Day in Amethyst & The Covered Day in Praline

As for me, my marathon love affair with Balenciaga has seen my one and only poor Giant City overworked and fatigued:( Therefore, it is high time that I inject some new blood into the family! The Day series just sent my blood pressure a notch higher as I love the slouchy and snug fit under the arms. The only question is: Is it gonna be The Giant Day in a "fierce" Amethyst or a more subdued Covered Giant Day in Praline? Or just maybe a simple Day in sweet strawberries-and-cream Framboise?
