I am astounded that even at this late stage, the full range of Mister Williamson's creation is still available in almost all sizes here in Tokyo. The capsule collection is iconic of the designer's penchant for all things bright and bold. For example, an eye-catching multi-coloured print kaftan will certainly appeal to Pucci lovers as it brings to mind his time as a creative director at the fashion house.
The heavy emphasis on embroidery and beading details also helps create a stunning contrast to his palette of monochrome tops and dresses. Dazzling sparklers adorned the neckline while proud peacocks in prismatic colours graced the bodice.
While there are no lack of sartorial choices, the accessories selection is certainly far and few. Williamson's flamboyant rock-and-roll gold studded belt though fits the bill as a major trendsetter as bold statement pieces are seemingly setting the runway ablaze this season. Accentuating the feminine wiles, the cinched waist gives a fresh spin to a fave perennial one-piece.
Peacock necklace with the designer's initials
Bright hues continue its riotous run as seen on this peacock necklace. The golden chain can be a little too-in -your face but interchange it with a black leather cord...and voila! A more laid-back vibe ensues.Though priced at a fraction of his eponymous collection, I am still not biting as the apparel bears the hallmark quality of H&M. Forking out 23,990JPY or S$365 for a piece that will probably not last for more than a couple of seasons is somewhat frivolous in my opinion. But if like me, you simply can't pass up a chance to lay hand on a designer piece, consider the accessories which might just be worth the pursuit.
