Blur Like Sotong...


I must confess. I have an addiction. I have been secretly helping myself to a thrice weekly Takoyaki binging session for the last couple of months and I cannot seem to stop. Okieee, before anyone starts exclaiming "aiyoh, you are sooo skinny and certainly can afford the binge" thingy, let me clear the air first. I am trying to lead a healthier lifestyle and this famed Kansai street food is not exactly the best advocate for that.

What got me hooked initially onto this tidbit is the crispy outer skin and the contrastingly soft filling which meld so well together with the syrupy Okonomiyaki sauce. And I soooo love the additional squirts of creamy mayonnaise on my Takoyaki too, much to the chagrin of my waistline;)

And this addiction is certainly not a flash-in-the-pan fad as I have a really weird tendency to keep craving and wanting the same thing. When I was in secondary school, I used to want to eat chicken rice all the time and I think it drove the people around me up the wall as no one shared my enthusiasm for chicken rice every other day:( So, perhaps it is now time for me to cut short my addiction and go cold turkey...
