The Sublime Orange Sale...

Anyone who thinks Japanese are the most courteous people ever to grace this planet has definitely never been to a family sale in Japan. Attending one will definitely open up your eyes and allow you to see behind the courteous facade. The recent Hermes sale which I attended with a friend almost had me running to take cover from all the Obasans. These spry ladies twice my age with their weapon of jabbing elbows even managed to cause a mini stampede when new bags were brought out. And mind you, we are not even on the subject of Kellys or Birkins! And moi, fearing for my own safety did not even dare creep a millimetre near to these "Japanese National Treasure Of Mass Destruction".

Nonetheless, I am happy to report back with my spoils from the sublime orange sale. The glorious ties which I had amassed on my other half's behalf had earned me a pat on the back;) And the bloke must have been hit by a passing meteorite as he had even generously agreed to pay for my Hermes enamel bangles! There is a story though behind these bangles as they did not come about easily. Arriving at the venue an hour ahead of opening time did not help our cause as the bangles being one of the most sought after buys were already snatched up by the even earlier birds. But my friend possessing a hawk-like eye, managed to zoom in on some abandoned ones left on the shelves and the dear gal benevolently shared her prized finds with me:) The accompanying buzz generated as a result was actually quite comical as people were stopping us in our tracks and enquiring if we would like to barter trade or simply gave them up. Wishful thinking...hahahaha...

Anyhow, with exhaustion creeping in after a five hour rampage, we decided it was time to punch out and head for a well-deserved hiatus. 次回まで...
