Bag Addiction #7, The Number 2.55...

No handbag list is complete without the inclusion of a Mademoiselle Chanel and this list is no exception. Few handbags can lay claim to have stood the test of time and these 2.55 Chanel masterpieces have certainly come a long way since their inception in the February of 1955. It has since become a staple in most women's wardrobe with the versatility to take you from day to night. With a jeans combo, it spells city chic and in the evening, simply glamour puss!

It is the unseen, unforgettable, ultimate accessory of fashion that heralds your arrival and prolongs your departure.

Season after season, they have been re-invented in either leather, cloth or even vinyl and they come in all colours possible, yet one never tires of them. It is rather the opposite as you look to increase your stash. My good friend, Joanne, can easily attest to this;) This classic quilted bag in metallic patent lambskin is from the latest 2008/09 Fall Collection. I love the combo of patent lamb leather in metallic silver as it gives the feel of rock-chic retro! Coooooooool...(with tons of drool over my keyboard)

A note of advice: If you are investing in your very first 2.55 Chanel, the caviar leather comes strongly recommended as it is more "scratch-proof" as compared to the one in lamb leather. I was in the same dilemma but finally settled on the caviar leather as I am not exactly known for taking great care of my possessions:( Personally, I like the lamb leather a tad more as it looks and feels really luxuriously soft. But common sense prevailed and as the saying goes, the rest is history...
