In Hot Soup...
With numerous branches under its belt, Shabu-Zen is one of the better known Shabu-Shabu restaurant in Tokyo. Oh, oh, and the Shibuya branch of Shabu-Zenwas even a filming location for every Tokyoite's fave movie "Lost In Translation".
With the wintry weather, what best to keep warm than a boiling pot of hot broth with razor thin slices of Japanese beef that melts in your mouth...*salivating*...Once cooked, you can dip these tempting morsels either in the tangy ponzu sauce or a more rounded sesame based sauce. Coupled with the scintillating blend of sauces, this is indeed soul food in winter!
At the close of the meal, the genial waitress, armed with salt and pepper started handing us cups of seasoned broth to prepare us for the trip back into the cold.
A very satisfying wintry retreat indeed...
