Pop The Bubbles...

Alternative to "Happy Awa", the “Drink Study” set with three recommended labels and three appetizers pairing

I love the concept of Nomihodai, 飲み放題 in Japan, especially when it comes to free flow bubbly;) Salon de Champagne Vionys in Ginza offers just that. The "Happy Awa" (or loosely translates to "Happy Bubbles") during weekdays of all-you-can-drink champagne for 2 hours is enough for me to sing my Monday blues away! Or with a good drinking buddy like Joanne, I am game anytime, any day. So, come back soon, babe;)

The champagne list runs on and on and can be quite intimidating for a novice. Curious as to the most costly bottle available, our close scrutiny unveiled the price of a whooping 1.3M JPY or S$20,000! You really must be extremely decadent to fork out that kind of dough for a bottle!

The menu too is rather extensive for a bar. From the complimentary cup of potage to main courses, the food is simply ambrosial, fit enough even for the divinities;) Ok, I tend to lean towards anything that contains Foie Gras and truffles but they do serve up a mean Foie Gras Risotto and pancake with scallops, excellent choices to pair with the flowing bubbly. And the service here is beyond reproach. With only two front staff, they are always attentive and will engage in light banter with the patrons.

As they say, time flies. At the end of the 2 hours, we left Salon de Champagne Vionys, uplifted and light-headed from the effervescence.
